Our interventional cardiology team specializes in minimally invasive treatments that effectively address a number of heart conditions. Our board certified interventional cardiologists have expert training in performing common heart procedures such as cardiac catheterization and angioplasty (repair of damaged blood vessels). They have also developed specialized techniques for managing more complex blood vessel anatomy, including patients with totally blocked arteries or patients who require an alternative to open heart surgery.
We offer in office consultation to provide patients with a thorough explanation of their treatment options, which include a combination of lifestyle modification, medical therapies, and/or minimally invasive procedures. Some of the common symptoms and conditions that we evaluate and treat include:
- Chest pain, also known as Angina
- Coronary artery disease (blockages in heart arteries)
- Congestive Heart Failure
- Heart valve disorders (such as aortic stenosis or mitral regurgitation)
- Claudication (pain or discomfort in legs when walking)
- Peripheral vascular disease (blockages in leg arteries)
Our cardiac catheterization laboratory, one of the first in the United States, is a state-of-the-art center for managing complex coronary and structural heart disease. We offer innovative therapies such as hypothermia induction to preserve brain function for victims of cardiac arrest. We are the only catheterization laboratory in Marin with the full spectrum of advanced devices to support a failing heart, including extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and the Impella left ventricular assist device.
