Electrophysiology Program

Our electrophysiology program provides comprehensive treatment for the entire spectrum of heart rhythm disorders, ranging from atrial fibrillation (the most commonly encountered serious heart rhythm disorder), palpitations and supraventricular tachycardia, slow heart rhythms (including pacemaker and cardiac device management), and the complex arrhythmia substrate (including ventricular tachycardia). In our holistic approach, we offer wellness promotion and lifestyle modification programs, judicious electrophysiology consultation and second opinions, and the entire spectrum of treatment options designed to help our patients to lead long, healthy, and active lives.

Our high-volume center for catheter ablation (a well-established minimally invasive procedure that can cure heart rhythm disorders) boasts world-class outcomes in terms of safety and efficacy. Our treatment strategies also include cutting-edge technology when appropriate. Availability of these approaches ensures that difficult-to-treat arrhythmias can be corrected in most cases, even when initial approaches have failed. In 2018, we became the first Bay Area program to implant the Micra TPS, a completely leadless miniaturized pacemaker that is threaded through the femoral vein in the leg up to the heart.

Most importantly, we value streamlined access for our patients, as we highly value the personal connection between the operating physicians and our patients
