At Cardiovascular Center of Marin, we offer a full range of cardiovascular services, and our team carries a tradition of innovation that dates back decades. We opened one of the first coronary care units in Northern California and performed some of the very first angioplasties in the Bay Area. Our cardiologists developed lifesaving Chest Pain Center protocols that have been adopted by hospitals throughout the country. Today, our clinical outcomes in treating victims of heart attack and cardiac arrest consistently exceed national benchmarks.

Our interventional cardiology program provides the full array of treatments for patients with coronary artery disease and peripheral vascular disease. Our cardiac catheterization laboratory, one of the first in the United States, is a state-of-the-art center for managing complex coronary and structural heart disease. We offer innovative therapies such as hypothermia induction to preserve brain function for victims of cardiac arrest. We are the only catheterization laboratory in Marin with the full spectrum of advanced devices to support a failing heart, including extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and the Impella left ventricular assist device.

Our comprehensive Electrophysiology Program, is a high-volume center for catheter ablation boasting world-class outcomes. We offer full implantation and follow-up services for implantable cardiac devices. In 2018, we became the first Bay Area program to implant the Micra TPS, a completely leadless pacemaker that is introduced through a small incision in the groin and threaded up to the heart through the femoral vein.

Our Structural Heart Program specializes in minimally invasive procedures to repair or replace damaged heart valves and treat other common heart defects. Our multidisciplinary Heart Team offers multiple catheter based solutions such as Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacment (TAVR) for patients with severe aortic stenosis, and Atrial Appendage Closure (Watchman Implant), to reduce stroke risk in patients with Atrial Fibrillation.

As the only Cardiac Surgery program in Marin, we have been performing successful heart and vascular operations for over 20 years. Additionally, in recent years, advances in minimally invasive techniques have dramatically reduced the need for open-heart surgery and expanded our ability to provide treatment to a much larger part of our community.

We were one of the first centers in the country to introduce intensive cardiac rehabilitation as a comprehensive lifestyle management program for primary prevention. For patients willing to make a more pronounced lifestyle change, we offer the Ornish lifestyle program for reversing heart disease.

We are also on the leading edge of the emerging field of sports cardiology with our Cardiovascular Performance Center, a medical specialty that focuses heart health and athletic performance.
